WHICH FLOOR IS RIGHT FOR
YOU?
High Pressure Air, Aluminum or Marine
Plywood??
High Pressure Air
Deck Floor - Positives
- boats with air decks lighter than those
with the aluminum floor and the marine plywood floor
- the high pressure air decks are a stable,
stiff platform when inflated. Stand on it, walk on it, jump
on it! It's only slightly less stiff than our marine plywood
floor
- effortless setup and takedown-just
inflate and go, deflate and stow!
- planes faster and more easily than comparable
marine plywood floor boats due to its light weight and rigidity
- air decks absorbs vibration better
and is more comfortable to kneel on compared to marine plywood
floor.
Aluminum Floor - Positives
- boats with aluminum floors are heavier
than those with air deck floors but lighter than the wood
floors.
- makes the boat a bit stiffer and less
flexible.
- highly recommended for all models larger
(and including) the SD330, especially if you wish to "plane"
your boat at higher speeds
- floor can't be punctured, torn or ripped
Marine Plywood Floor
- Positives
- boats with marine plywood floors are
heavier than those with air deck floors & aluminum floors
- makes the boat a bit stiffer and less
flexible.
- highly recommended for all models larger
(and including) the SD330, especially if you wish to "plane"
your boat at higher speeds
- less expensive than the Aluminum floor
models.
- floor can't be punctured, torn or ripped.
Conclusion:
- We recommend the High Pressure
Air deck:
- If you planning to inflate and deflate
your boat often
- If you are concerned about overall
boat weight
- If you are looking to be "mobile",
the Air Deck is lighter, deflates and folds compactly.
- We recommend the Aluminum Floor:
- If you are concerned about overall
boat weight but want the features of the air deck floors.
- if you will regularly have sharp objects
on the floor of the boat (to include large dogs!)
- if you will keep your boat inflated
most of the time
- We recommend the Marine Plywood Floor:
- If you are not concerned about overall
boat weight
- if you want to keep the price as low
as possible
- if you will regularly have sharp objects
on the floor of the boat (to include large dogs!)
- if you will keep your boat inflated
most of the time
